learning fun?

How can a system be designed so students care more for learning?


I was watching MTV last night and they had a show about highschool pranks or something like that. This episode was about these two boys whom have been best friends since they were small. They both attended this magnet school called Raleigh Senior High. This school is super hard to get into, its just like our own Coral Reef. Anyway, they had this think that when they become juniors in highschool and they have a 3.0 gpa they will receive an orange id card. If they didnt have a 3.0 they would receive a green id card. Orange meant they could leave campus for lunch, and Green would mean they had to stay and eat nasty cafeteria food. I think that would be a good idea to motivate students to learn.
